Assessors Award
For an experienced Dental Nurse the next step may be to become a qualified Assessor. An Assessor would help candidates in achieving their NVQ. This is carried out by observing their work and measuring it against the standards set by the City & Guild or similiar awarding body. The assessor is there to judge whether the student is competent and, when necessary, help a student improve their skills through tuition and coaching.
Together with the awarding body an Assessor works with the candidate to help them achieve the necessary standard and the fulfill the specified criteria.
This award is available at either the Winchester or Southampton centre or we can arrange to have the qualification awarded in your place of work. We do not have set dates for the Assessors Award, please contact us for arranging this qualification.
The requirements to become a assessor are:

- Those professionals who are competent in the area of practice to which the national occupational standards apply and who hold a qualification recognised by another UK regulatory body in health and social care (e.g. anaesthetists, radiographers)
